FirstWind brings to the table expertise from around the world, each who are superb technical experts in their field to enable the most efficient and practical solution to bringing wind power generation to First Nation/Indian Reserve/Tribal/Indigenous lands.

FirstWind is also connected with several government agencies enabling speedy processing of necessary permits and agreements to enable quick and efficient access to lands for preliminary work in the field.  Joseph R. Linkevic

Principal:

 

Joseph R. Linkevic, a member of the Osoyoos Indian Band from Oliver, British Columbia, is a co-founder of FirstWind Power, Inc.

Joseph has a law degree from University of Victoria in British Columbia, and a Masters of Law (Indigenous Peoples’ Law and Policy) from the University of Arizona, in Tucson, Arizona as well as a Masters’ degree in American Indian Studies from the same university. 

His background includes over 30 years of working with First Nations and Indian Tribes in the United States as well as the government of Canada and British Columbia regarding land titles, taxation and economic development.
